Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos admits to not having any formal training in acting, but that did not stop her from brilliantly portraying the roles she gets, the latest of which is as Raquel in the primetime series Genesis. On one of its recent episodes, she effectively made Raquel look like she was starting to lose her sanity out of desperation in finding her daughter Osie.

Whatever technique she uses now, she gives credit to Direk Joyce Bernal and acting coach Jay Cruz for it. "Sa kanila nanggaling 'yung huwag planuhin kung ano ang gagawin. I-feel mo na lang para kapag nangyari na, totoo 'yung reaction mo."

Rhian also makes sure that she does proper research about her character as she believes it is the responsible thing to do. She also empties her mind before doing a scene so she can create various reactions to any stimulation.

"Kunwari, tinuro ako ng bata tapos sasabihin niya na baliw ako, puwede kong siyang marinig. puwedeng hindi. Parang ang dami kong choices na puwedeng gawin sa loob ng eksena. Ayokong i-plan 'yung acting ko sa rehearsal pa lang."

Rhian also mentioned that she wants to play someone with an uncontrollable weakness in a future project. What inspired her to consider this role?

"My two favorite shows of 2013, Banshee and Ray Donovan, medyo may pagka-ganun. May something sila na hindi nila ma-control. Although they are the hero of the story, medyo kalaban pa rin nila ang sarili nila. You don't have to be perfect just to be the hero of the story."

Will Raquel and Osie be reunited with Isaak before the end of the world? Find out in the last two weeks of Genesis, weeknights after Adarna, on GMA Telebabad. -- Text by Michelle Caligan, Interview by Shively Abella, Photo by Bochic Estrada, GMANetwork.com
